If when you check your AliExpress pending orders you notice that there is a box that says “Confirm receipt of order” and you don’t know what it is, don’t worry. Today we are going to tell you what it means and when you should use it.
Continue reading this post and get rid of all your doubts about AliExpress order confirmation, what it is for and how to use it.
What does “Confirm receipt of order” mean?
When the seller ships your order (you can check it through this link), the “Pending shipment” status will change to “Shipped” and the “Confirm receipt of order” checkbox will be activated automatically.
With this option you will be able to notify AliExpress on your own that you have received the product and AliExpress will release the money to the seller.
Be careful about confirming receipt of an order
The fact that you have the possibility to confirm receipt of the order does not mean that it is advisable to do so. You must first open the package, check that it is indeed the product you ordered and be sure that it will not be necessary to open a dispute.
If you confirm receipt of the order, you will shorten the time you have to open a dispute
Please note that when you confirm receipt of the order you have up to 15 days to open a dispute. So, if you do it without waiting for AliExpress to confirm it, when the confirmation period ends, you will have less days to open a dispute.
Is it advisable to confirm receipt of an order even if you have received it?
Our recommendation is that you do not do it, unless you are very sure that you will not have any problem with the order.
That is, if it is clothing, beauty products, hand tools or accessories that you have been able to test and you are satisfied, you can confirm receipt without any inconvenience. It is a way to thank the seller for his work and allow you to get paid for your sale as soon as possible.
However, when it comes to technology products, power tools or purchases of streaming accounts (Netflix, HBO, Spotify or others), it is best not to confirm receipt of the order and wait for AliExpress to do it for you automatically when the deadline for receipt is over.
This way you will have more time to test the product. To the additional days that elapse from the time you receive the order until AliExpress automatically confirms receipt, you will add the 15 days that the platform gives you to open a dispute.
What can I do if I have confirmed the receipt of an order by mistake?
Be very careful because, if by mistake you confirm that you have received a package that has not yet arrived, you will not be able to cancel it.
As AliExpress shipments are faster and faster, you may even receive the order within the 15 days you have to claim.
If you are lucky, you will be able to check if your order is correct or not before the time to start a dispute is over. Otherwise, you will hardly be able to claim or do anything to recover the money you have spent.
Why when I confirm the receipt of an order, AliExpress warns me that I will not be able to open a dispute?
If you decided to confirm a received package, when you do so you will see a note from AliExpress saying that if you click “Confirm”, you will not be able to open dispute for that order.
This is a wrong message because you will be able to claim your order as long as you are within the 15 days period.
It used to be impossible to open a dispute after confirming receipt of an order, but some time ago, the platform extended the deadline to 2 weeks. This is why today we customers are more protected than before when shopping online.
